Delivery & Packaging
To ensure you receive your trees in the best condition for a successful start we:
- Aim to minimise the time between lifting and you receiving the plants.
- Pack your trees thoroughly with protective packaging with the roots kept moist.
- Collection is welcome by arrangement.
Once arranged all deliveries are made by next day carrier. We send out bare root trees in the dormant period between December and March. Most trees will be sent out in January, Febuary and March. Because post in the run up to the Christmas period is less reliable, we prefer not to send trees over this period. If you wish to give a tree as a Christmas present, we recommend that you buy a gift voucher instead.
Fruit trees are lengthy items. They are packed and delivered in 1.5m long boxes.
We always try to contact you to arrange a convenient date and you do not necessarily have to be in if you have a safe place to leave the package.
We do not make money on deliveries. They are sent at cost. The bulk of the price is the carrier cost. The further they have to take the delivery the more they charge hence unfortunately having to apply a surcharge.
For U.K. mainland excluding the Scottish Highlands
1-5 trees £13 plus VAT, 5-10 trees £26 plus VAT, 10-15 trees £39 plus VAT, 15 trees or more £60 postage & packaging.
For Highland and Islands we have to make a surcharge depending on location
we will inform you of this.
We do not delivery to Ireland (north or south) IOM, Channel Isles or onto the continent.
You are welcome to collect your orders from Steepholding but need to pre-arrange with a few days notice so we can get it ready for you and ensure that we will be there for your arrival. If you wish to collect please enter the code COLLECTION at the checkout as your free shipping discount.
